Safety Reps’ Conference

The society is delighted to announce its first dedicated day of CPD for health and safety representatives. The event will be an opportunity to hear from expert speakers and share best practice.
The programme will include sessions on asbestos, lone working, equality in health and safety, making the most of your health and safety inspections, and what should be included in risk assessments. There will also be updates on the work the TUC is doing in this area, and the health and safety arm of the NHS Staff Council, the HSWG.
This event is for SoR health and safety reps and priority will be given to those outside London and the South East.

Webinar for Safety Reps: Violence at Work
Virtual | Monday 24 February 2025, 6-7pm,
As the Health and Safety Executive outlines in its guidance: “Your employer has specific duties to protect you from work-related violence and aggression. This includes verbal abuse as well as physical attacks.”
This session will cover the measures employers should have in place to protect staff, including effective risk assessments and policy provisions.
We are delighted to welcome Janet Newsham to deliver this session. Janet is chair of the UK Hazards Campaign and coordinator at Greater Manchester Hazards Centre, which supports safety at work, advises workers on OHS issues and leads campaigning work challenging work-related injuries and disease.
This webinar is designed for SoR safety reps but is open to all SoR members.
