Charity Breast Cancer Now is here for anyone affected by breast cancer. Here’s how, together, you can help your breast cancer patients get the right support at the right time

Every day, you and other Therapeutic Radiographers support patients during some of their darkest times, offering them care during their cancer treatment.  

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and Breast Cancer Now exists to support anyone affected by the disease. The breast cancer research and support charity has a vast array of information and support services that you can share with your patients, as well as resources and opportunities to help support you.

Who can Breast Cancer Now help? 

Breast Cancer Now’s free support services and information are available to anyone affected by breast cancer. 

Support is available in person, online, over the phone or in print, which means your patients can easily access the help they need in the way that works best for them.  

Whether someone’s worried about breast cancer, dealing with a diagnosis or living with or beyond treatment, and whether they have primary or secondary breast cancer, they can turn to Breast Cancer Now.  

Breast Cancer Now also funds life-saving research and campaigns for change, which is all part of the charity’s vision that by 2050 everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives and is supported to live well.  

Breast Cancer Now’s free support services and information are available to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Support for everyone  

Here for You  

You can help your breast cancer patients get the right support at the right time through one simple referral. Just fill in the online referral form and Breast Cancer Now will do the rest. A member of the team will then call your patient to explain the support on offer, making sure that anyone with primary or secondary breast cancer gets the support they need to live well.  

Health information  

Breast Cancer Now is here with accurate information about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, or breast health.    

Trained breast care nurses  

Breast cancer and breast health can be hard to make sense of. If someone’s worried about breast cancer, or has a question about breast health, the specialist team is here to help on the free helpline or Ask Our Nurses email.   

Forum   

Through an online forum, Breast Cancer Now is there every step of the way – alongside thousands of people who understand what someone’s going through.   

Support for primary breast cancer  

Someone Like Me   

With the Someone Like Me service, Breast Cancer Now will match people with a volunteer who’s been through a similar experience, so they never have to face breast cancer alone.   

Moving Forward   

The Moving Forward course gives people the tools they need to adjust to life beyond primary breast cancer treatment – because Breast Cancer Now knows life doesn’t always go ‘back to normal’ after breast cancer.   

Younger Women Together  

The Younger Women Together service supports women aged 20-45 and gives them the chance to meet other people their age who understand what they’re going through.   

Becca  

Becca, the breast cancer support app, is your pocket companion to primary breast cancer. It has trustworthy information for anyone living with or beyond primary breast cancer, with real-life stories from people who’ve been there too.  

Support for secondary breast cancer  

Living with Secondary Breast Cancer   

The Living with Secondary Breast Cancer service has expert information on subjects such as wellbeing, side effects and exercise, as well as a chance to talk about what’s on people’s minds. It’s available face to face or online and is facilitated by qualified counsellors.  

Younger Women with Secondaries Together  

The Younger Women with Secondaries Together service is specifically for younger women who are living with secondary breast cancer.  

Support for secondary breast cancer  

Living with Secondary Breast Cancer

Healthcare professionals hub    

The Breast Cancer Now healthcare professionals hub is a dedicated area for healthcare professionals where you can find out more about breast cancer and how it affects patients. It’s open to all healthcare professionals in clinical practice based in the UK. By joining you’ll get access to:   

  • Recorded webinars facilitated by clinical nurse specialists, covering topics such as managing the side effects of treatments, family history and risk, as well support for your own wellbeing.   
  • A monthly email newsletter full of research, policy, news and features from the breast cancer field.   
  • Specialist interest and champion groups for healthcare professionals, including the Secondary Breast Cancer Nursing Group, Younger Women Champions Nursing Group and Family History and Genetics Champions Group. The Breast Screening Champion Group is launching later this year. Specialist groups meet twice a year, as well as regular clinical updates, networking opportunities and sharing best practice.
