The Society of Radiographers (SoR) is dedicated to delivering high-quality services and support to members throughout their careers. To maintain and enhance these offerings, membership fees will increase from 1 October 2024.
The society is committed to investing in resources that benefit you, including enhanced support systems, upgraded digital infrastructure and initiatives aimed at expanding our influence within the profession. While the increase will be modest – no more than £1 per month for most members – it is an essential step to ensure the society can continue improving the services provided.
The SoR has also listened to feedback regarding student membership pricing. In response, it is lowering the student membership fee to just £2 per month for all students from October, ensuring services remain accessible and supportive during their studies.
While the SoR has an extensive benefits package, it recognises the need to make it easier for members to fully understand and access these benefits. From October, SoR will introduce a new monthly membership benefits newsletter, designed to help you make the most of your membership by providing clear information on how to access and utilise the services available.
Alongside the newsletter, the SoR is excited to announce several new initiatives for 2024-25 aimed at further enhancing your membership experience:
- Benefits reference guide for reps: a comprehensive guide to help reps easily navigate and explain membership benefits to colleagues, ensuring everyone is aware of the full range of support available.
- Centralised booking system for career packs: a streamlined system for booking career packs to support local outreach efforts, making it easier to organise resources for events and initiatives.
- Reinstating the welcome booklet: a refreshed welcome booklet for new members, providing an easy-to-navigate introduction to SoR services, benefits and guidance on how to get the most out of your membership.
- More region-specific content and features: tailored content and features designed to address the unique needs of members in different regions, offering more relevant updates and support based on where you live and work.
- Learning Management System: a new platform going live in 2025, providing access to a range of online courses and professional development tools, enabling you to learn at your own pace and track your progress.
More information about the fee adjustment will be shared directly with members via email; however, you can view the new fee structure below:
